The Weight of the Mind: Why Do We Wake Up Tired?
Have you ever felt like your motivation simply vanishes and every small task of the day becomes an unbearable burden? It’s that feeling where everything feels like a heavy weight and, as soon as the day begins, you already feel exhausted. We often think the problem is just physical, but I've realized that the truth behind our exhaustion can be much deeper and closely linked to what we are constantly scrolling through on our screens.
Since I’m always reading about health content, I decided to look into how dopamine and overstimulation affect us. I decided to try something out: I spent several hours without accessing the internet, focusing only on taking care of my home and doing my work, without any big goals or pressure. To my surprise, I felt much more energized than if I had just had a long night of sleep. The big lesson I learned is that while our bodies are regenerating almost all day long, our energy isn't—and staring at screens for hours was wasting the brain energy I needed to recover from my fatigue.
The Screen That Drains Our Life
I noticed that just one day of rest isn't enough; most of us have been mentally drained for days on end. And when the mind gets tired, the body feels it immediately. That’s why it’s so hard to get out of bed at 5 AM like our great-grandparents used to do.
They didn't have screens to drain their attention. They woke up early to work during the freshest part of the day, and by sunset, they were already back home with family and friends, truly letting their minds rest. In my experience, cutting out the digital noise for a while made me feel stronger than a full night's sleep ever did.
The Path I’m Taking for a Better Quality of Life
To change this and finally get my energy back, I realized that I needed more than just willpower. It’s a mix of taking care of my mind and getting professional help. This is the path I’m following now:
- Medical Support: I went to see a doctor to check for any vitamins I was missing.
- Seeing a Nutritionist: Learning how to fuel my body properly for the day.
- Managing Mental Fatigue: Being careful with screen time to save my brain’s energy.
- Supplements: Taking the vitamins my body actually needs to feel strong again.
The combination of medical follow-up and being mindful of my mental energy is how I'm seeking a better life. I just want to feel strong, present, and ready to take on the day with real energy.
